Level 1 Japanese

Mondays, February 22- April 26, 2010

5:30- 6:30 pm

Introduction to standard spoken Japanese. Students focus on everyday expressions, vocabulary, basic grammar, and conversation, with emphasis on improving pronunciation, speaking, and listening skills through oral/aural drills and exercises. Limited study of writing (Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana). Relevant cultural content introduced. All course materials are included in the course fee. The instructor is a native Japanese speaker with multiple years of teaching experience and who currently teaches at a local university.

Prerequisites:
No previous Japanese skills are necessary
Suitability:
Mature-age-14 to Adult. Appropriate for general interest, travel, corporate/business-related, continuing education, and college-prep.
Course location:
Crane House
Course frequency:
1 hour per week; 10 sessions.
Course fee:
$135 member. $175 non-member. Fee includes all course materials. Payment due by first day of class. Cash/check/credit card.
Early termination:
Prorated refund of all untaken classes if course is dropped on or before 3rd class. 20% refund of all untaken classes if course is dropped on or after 4th class.

Level 2 Japanese

Mondays, February 22 - April 26, 2010

6:30- 7:30 pm

This is a semi-Introductory course for those who have had previous experience in the Japanese language or who have taken Level 1 Japanese. Students focus on everyday expressions, vocabulary, basic grammar, and conversation, with emphasis on improving pronunciation, speaking, and listening skills through oral/aural drills and exercises. Limited study of writing (Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana). Relevant cultural content introduced. All course materials are included in the course fee. The instructor is a native Japanese speaker with multiple years of teaching experience and who currently teaches at a local university.

Level 1 Japanese or by permission of instructor.

Mature-age-14 to Adult. Appropriate for general interest, travel, corporate/business-related, continuing education, and college-prep.

Tutorial - Japanese

Short-term, individualized courses are available by request. Course content is custom-suited to the client's language ability, needs, and interests. All course materials are included in the course fee. Instructors are native speakers with years of teaching experience.

Mature-age-12 to Adult. Appropriate for general interest, travel, corporate/business-related, continuing education, and college-prep.
Course location:
Crane House or alternate location
Schedule:
Choice of 1 hour or ½-hour session. Class schedule and location arranged by client and instructor.
Course fee:
$35 per 1-hour session. $25 per ½-hour session. Fee includes all course materials. Full payment is due at each class session. Cash or check only
Early termination:
No fee for termination, but advance notice is required by instructor.
